​Mind Body Movement Arts is honored to have Shifu Neil Ripski in Sedona to share his extensive knowledge with us!  This workshop will cover many dynamic sets of movements and rarely shared knowledge and skills in the Art of BaguaZhang .....The movements of Bagua flow and are based on circular, and spiral structures and shapes. Students that participate can expect to learn about themselves and the dynamics of their body in a very profound way.

Event Details:​
Shifu Neil Ripski is a founder and Master Instructor of Red Jade Martial Arts. He has been training in Chinese Martial Arts since 1986 and has attained the rank of Shifu (instructor/teacher) as a formal Disciple in the Ma Family Style of Ba ying quan (Eight Shadows Fist) AKA Ma Jia Quan (Ma Family Fist) and has specialized and become renowned for his Ba ying jiu/zui quan 醉拳 (Drunken Boxing) which he now teaches internationally. All this was trained under his late teacher Ma Qing Long 馬青龍 . 
Shifu Ripski is a world renowned teacher of Chinese Martial Arts specializing in Drunken Style and Internal Arts. He is one of the owners of Deep Water Martial Arts Magazine and a Master in the Kootenay Chin Woo Martial Arts Association. He has taught all over the world and has students in Taiwan, Scotland, Israel, Canada, USA, Switzerland, Mexico and so on. He currently is teaching workshops when he is not writing or teaching his Full Time Live in Training courses through the Kootenay Chin Woo Martial Arts Association.

Mind Body Movement Arts is excited to help bring Bharat Natyam to Northern Arizona. We are honored to have Asha Gopal and her assistants to share their passion with all you dance and movement enthusiasts!
Bharat Natya incorporates distinct and powerful percussive sounds of rhythmic footwork, intricate and nuanced bodily movements, precise hand gestures and theatrical story-telling that communicates emotions. As a performance form, Bharata Natyam truly transforms music and literature into visual poetry movement.

Bharata Natyam is a basis for understanding ourselves in our own times. In addition to physical expression and artistry students will have exposure and cultivation to world culture.
The movement of Bharata Natyam dance is unique and dynamic, and has many health benefits:

Asha Gopal is an accomplished dancer and a disciple of celebrated teachers:  Guru Muthiah Pillai, Guru Kittappa Pillai and Professor U.S. Krishna Rao. She has given Bharata Natya recitals in all major cities of India and other parts of the world. She now lives in Phoenix, Arizona. She established the Arathi School of Dance in 1981.
Asha is the proud recipient of many prestigious awards. To name a few:  ‘Singar Mani’ title from Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai in 1969; NRI Excellence award in 1993 at London, England; Karnataka Kalashri award from Sangeet Natak Academy in 1999; Citizen of the Year award in 2000 from the Asian American Association of Arizona; Balasaraswati dance award in 2005 from Sri Ragam Fine Arts Society; Natya Saraswati award in 2008 from Sri Raja Rajeshwari Kalaniketan, Bengaluru; and Drishti Nrityakala Puraskara in 2011 from Drishti Art Foundation, Bengaluru.

Elka’s enthusiasm and passion for teaching, combined with her extensive knowledge and understanding of the foundations of yoga philosophy, meditation and holistic health, allow her to teach classes that encourage the beginner, as well as challenge the most advanced student to use the body in order to access the mind and heart.
Elka Haeckel is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor with certifications in Ayurveda, Prana Flow, Restorative Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Yoga Therapy.
She is also a certified Massage Therapist with specialization in Thai Healing Medical Massage.  Elka Haeckel is an international yoga teacher leading teacher trainings, workshops and yoga retreats all over the globe.  Elka Haeckel is also the creator of Elka Yoga (Yoga from your Heart), Yoga Samba Dance, and Choco Vinyasa.  Her teachings take students on an inner journey to get in touch with their true
identity.   Elka's classes are not a regular practice but a trans-formative experience.
